FAB Friday – Free Easter Printables

It’s Friday, which means FREE Printables!  And this week, we have free EASTER Printables for you.

These free printable tags are 2 inches round, and come 20 to a sheet.  The downloads are in a PDF format file.  Just download, print, and then cut.  (We recommend a circle punch, like THIS ONE, but scissors work too!  Punches are lost cost and once you have one you’ll find zillions of reasons to use it)

You can punch a hole and add tags to your party favors with string or ribbon… or use the design as a cupcake topper.  If you decide to print them on STICKER paper, these will make great seals for favor bags or boxes. You can also make adorable cupcake toppers out of them!

Get the BLUE BUNNY tag here.

Happy Friday!!

Easter Cupcakes Decorating & Ideas

It’s almost time for Easter!  Next week is spring break for my kiddos, and we are planning at least two days of cooking and baking and prepping for the Big Day.  I selected a few fun Easter cupcake decorating designs that we are going to make!

First up, from DisneyFamily.com, check out the super fun “Rabbit’s Easter Cupcakes”  You will not believe how incredibly easy those darling little candy carrots are to make!:

And did you know you can buy EDIBLE Easter grass for your baking?  You CAN!  Check out the post from Warning Sugary Goodness, that details how to use it (AND where to get it!)

I found another great recipe/tutorial on DisneyFamilyFun, with instructions on how to make edible Easter Basket cupcakes… so CUTE!

Bridal Shower Games

We talked about Bridal Shower Tea Parties yesterday… and I thought it would be fun to share links to a few Bridal Shower games.  I don’t know about you, but I’ve had times when I squirmed and groaned during “party games”, but if they are done well, these can actually be an enjoyable part of any shower. And of course they can also be used for Bachelorette parties!

At Project Wedding, I found a great list of “How Well Do You Know the Bride” questions.  You can copy and paste these to a Word doc, and print on pretty paper, and you have an instant game!  To make your task even more simple, I created two free bridal shower game printables for you to use.  These are designed so you can print two sheets per 8.5×11 size paper.  Just add your questions to the Word doc, print, and you are ready to go!

Martha Stewart has 14 unique ideas for bridal shower games.  Check out this simple guessing game, using photos of the brideBut make sure you scroll through the 14 ideas she shares – were sure you’ll find several great bridal shower game ideas that are perfect for your shower!

And a cute “icebreaker” type game is “Who Am I”?  Again, from Martha Stewart.com, a simple game that helps guests get to know one another.

And finally, how about a BINGO game?  Check out the simple instructions here for bridal shower bingo!:

Tea Party Bridal Shower

There are lots of different ways to go with a Bridal Shower, but I think one of the most elegant is a “tea party” theme. Based on my research, it looks like I’m not the only one who thinks this way!

Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms

Diva Entertains Stuff Mushrooms

Friends at the recipe swap that I belong to have long-raved about these spinach stuffed mushrooms.  I had been avoiding them because the last time I made baked stuffed mushrooms they were less than stellar.  But just the other day someone on the swap made them and then posted about how much her company had liked them.  That was the little kick start I needed to try again!

They certainly were good.  And rather easy to make.  What I loved about the recipe is that, if I wanted to, I could remove the spinach from the list of ingredients and then use it as an excellent base for stuffed baked mushrooms that are just screaming “doctor me up!”.  For example, the addition of lobster, crab meat or sausage would be delicious! (All need to be cooked before adding to the stuffing mixture.)

I also tinkered with the recipe a bit and swapped Panko breadcrumbs for regular breadcrumbs to give a bit more texture to the stuffing.  As well as added some wine to the topping mixture for flavor. Also, just before they went into the oven for baking, I topped them off with some grated Parmesan cheese.

Don’t forget that Diva Entertains has you covered when it comes to fabulous Birthday Favors!

Springtime Cookies

I know I have mentioned SweetSugarBelle.com more than once, but I just can’t get over how adorable her cookie designs are… and now that SPRING is here, I simply must share her work again.  She has the BEST tutorials and help around, and her photos just WOW me every time.

Check out her post about Flowers Pots cookies… everything is so incredibly detailed that even *I* might be able to make ADORABLE spring cookies.

And because it’s almost Easter-time, you have to click over to the Bunny Cupcakes post.  AGAIN, incredibly detailed, with photo instructions, step-by-step…

What kind of cookies will YOU be making this spring?

Fabulous and Fifty – Birthday DIY

One of our more popular posts is the DIY 40th Birthday post.  All of the ideas really could be adapted for any age, but I thought I’d write ANOTHER post, this time focusing on the FABULOUS 50!

One place to start for planning a birthday bash is the “What Happened in my Birth Year” site.   This site is fun!  I entered 1962, and got some fun into about movies and events from that year. “50 Years of Changes” would be fun for a theme!  Interestingly enough… glitter high heel shoes were almost as popular in 1962 as they are today!  And a gold 50th birthday is a popular birthday theme.

To find some FAB FIFTY cake ideas, simply go to Google Images, and type in “gold 50th birthday cake”.  Lots and lots and LOTS of great cake images will show up. Find one or two that you love, and print to take to your local bakery.  Most bakeries will be happy to use your inspiration photos to help create a cake for you.  Of course if it isn’t gold that you are into, just take in “50th birthday cake”.  Looking for a “50th birthday cake for men”?  Put that in the Google Images search bar!

Another option for dessert is brownie pops.  Check out these fabulous GOLD (and silver) brownie pops from {The Roche Shop}.  You can easily make them yourself by frosting brownie pops and then roll them in edible glitter.  Sound too difficult – no worries! Just make a pan of browns, frost them and then sprinkle them with edible gold glitter or lustre (look in any craft store baking aisle)!

A party isn’t complete without decorations and banners.  How about a gold glitter birthday banner?  Check out Everyday Ebullience and Creature Comforts for great examples (and a DIY) on making a fun glitter banner:

Gold, glitz, glamour… perfect for a Fab Fifty birthday party!

More National Craft Month – Shabby Chic Diva DIY

I am excited to announce that we have begun expanding the Diva Entertains shop to include SHABBY CHIC party and wedding favors!  And because it’s still National Craft Month, and I was looking for fun DIY Diva projects… I decided to see what I could find the in the SHABBY CHIC DIY DIVA category.  I found just a few things (and then some!)

Check out this fun DIY post from the Wedding Chicks, with instructions on making the fun Shabby Chic Place Cards… with thread spools, paper, and lollipop sticks.  Such a simple design!  Perfect for an afternoon tea or shabby chic baby shower.

A huge wedding trend is anything “chalkboard”.  Signs, place cards, wine charms and more! From the b*spoke blog, and crafty girl, comes a quick and easy DIY tutorial on how to make a chalkboard frame.  These would be great for welcoming guests to a party, OR writing a bridal shower menu for all to see, and then handing off the frame/chalkboard as a gift to the bride.  I personally didn’t realize there was a such thing as chalkboard paint but as this tutorial shows – there sure is!

And I found a fabulous tutorial for turning candlesticks into picture frames.  Brittany of the 3 B’s uses her frames for decor for her home, but these could also be used as decorations for a reception or a wedding shower.

Are you into the “shabby chic” look?  Let us know if you have favorite tutorials or ideas we can share!

Graham Cracker Bars – Old Fashioned Goodness!

A friend at Eat.at introduced me to this recipe and it brought me back to childhood snacking on graham crackers.  But these are oh-so-much better!  Why?  They have a chewy center reminiscent of pecan pie filling but not as sweet. And they are a snap to make with the food processor.

The only thing I would do next time is add 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips to the filling to make them chocolate graham cracker bars – YUM!

Turn to Diva Entertains for the very best party favors.  “Making the world a little bit happier…one party at a time!”
