Valentine’s Day Party Bites – Dessert Style!

Here at Diva Entertains, we are planning a series of “Party Bite” blog posts in upcoming weeks, and today is the first in that series… and it’s a Valentine  DESSERT “party bites” post!  So… the post is brought to you by chocolate, red velvet and truffles, with a few more yummy things thrown in just for fun!

And to save time, I’m just going to provide links and images, since the photos speak for themselves

Hot Chocolate Truffle Balls, from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe.  Totally easy – totally fun!  Drop them in some hot milk for a fabulous flavor explosion.  Or eat ‘em straight up – either way these are winners!

From Smuckers, Strawberry Angel Cookies.  A very easy recipe that uses a angel food cake mix.  Although the recipe calls for sugar free preserves (which is great if your on a low sugar diet), I made them with the real deal!

From Peace of Cake, Red Velvet Cookies:  So simple (use a red red velvet cake mix)…so good!  Cream cheese is one of the 5 (yes, only 5!) ingredients so you know it is going to be good!

From Baking Bites, Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies.  Need we say more?

From The Curvy Carrot, Cherry Chocolate Kisses:

And last but not least, super, SUPER easy Heart Shaped Cupcakes.  (how to make the heart shape – use whatever cupcake recipe you’d like)

Peanut Butter Cream Brownies

I invented this peanut butter recipe recently.  Well, I actually borrowed most of it from my Chocolate “Ganach-ed” Cream Cheese Brownies.  The difference is I developed a super creamy, luscious peanut butter cream filling.  And so easy to make – just 1 stick of butter, one cup of peanut butter and one cup of powdered sugar!

After you take the brownie base out of the oven, let it cool for at least 30 minutes.  Otherwise, if you spread the peanut butter creme over it the butter in the mixture would melt and you don’t want that.  Then put the peanut butter brownies in the fridge for 30 minutes before you pour the chocolate ganache over it.

If you want to ‘fancy up’ the presentation of your brownies, a bit of chopped Reese’s candies or peanuts will do the trick!  Add immediately after you pour the ganache.

Supernatural Brownies: From Scratch Brownies

supernatural

Let me start this post by saying that I am a fan of boxed brownie mixes.  They’re  hard to beat.  And whenever I’m making brownies where I add something to them (chocolate chips), or add a topping (chocolate ganache) or two (Chocolate Ganached Cream Cheese Brownies) – I always use a mix.  However, if I’m just serving brownies au natural, I make from scratch brownies called Supernatural Brownies from Nick Maliegi, an incredible baker.  Using only a whisk, they take just minutes to make.  And a better brownie I’ve never had.  Try making them with bittersweet chocolate – utterly sinful:)

Like your desserts light and delicate?  Then this post is definitely not for you (sorry – another time!).  Another name for these sinfully rich, over-the-top, incredibly decadent brownies would be “Sinfully Rich, Over-the-Top, Incredibly Decadent Brownies”.

They aren’t hard to make at all (they start off with a packaged brownie mix – how wonderful is that!?).  It’s just that they call for a few extra steps.  Please believe me when I say these are worth it.
