Something Blue Bridal Shower Favors & Decor

A “Something Blue” Bridal Shower is usually one of two themes.  The first is  from the saying that the bride should wear “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue”.  Of course the decor is “blue” and often so are the party favors.  The other reference is to a Tiffany Themed Bridal Shower and the blue references Tiffany’s iconic robin blue gift box.  Both themes are fun, fabulous and easy to decorate around.

First up is our Something Blue Diamond Ring Manicure Set.  Not only stylish, but super useful too.  Perfect sized for your purse and/or travel.

Theme Thursday: Lalaloopsy Parties

I mentioned HERE that my daughter is enamored with My Little Pony… and we were thinking about a MLP birthday party this year.  BUT, she is ALSO enamored with Lalaloopsy, and now we can’t decide!  It doesn’t help that I found a ton of adorable ideas for decorating and throwing a Lalaloopsy party.  Check ’em out!

A super cute gallery of Lalaloopsy birthday party photos on Catch My Party.  The “button” cakes look very simple, but add the PERFECT touch for a Lalaloopsy party!  There are 24 great pictures (lots of inspiration) to scroll through

And another adorable round-up of Lalaloopsy photos on Catch My Party.  I LOVE, LOVE the favor bags… and these adorable (well, what other word can I use??) cake pops.  One again, 19 pictures to scroll through!

Check out Carosello, and her Lalaloopsy party photos, and comments.  The button backdrop was a genius idea – so simple, but perfection for the theme:

And speaking of button backdrops, check out the Lalaloopsy Party post on the Hostess blog.  This is a great DIY post, with the end result – only $20 for a fab party backdrop!

And finally (although I COULD keep posting links because there are some FAB posts out there… lots and lots of Lalaloopsy this year)… but, finally, a LalaLoopsy post on Very Rosenberry, featuring Whimsical Printables… this party is over the top, and I love everything about it:

DIY Wedding Arbors

If I had it to do over again, I think I would include an arbor as decoration for my wedding… either as a backdrop for the wedding itself or for the reception.  I have found some lovely, lovely arbor decorations and ideas lately… and today I’m sharing!

First up, from Rustic Wedding Chic, several photos of flower decorated arbors.  I absolutely adore the birch arbor with yellows, peaches, and reds – what a lovely combination!

I found the next arbor on, and while it’s not exactly a 1-2-3 how-to, it does have a great description of what was done to create this fabulous look.

And this isn’t exactly an “arbor”, but it is a FAB idea… a gorgeous petal backdrop, perfect for either wedding or reception.  The link will take you to a message board on, and as a bonus, there are some additional DIY instructions for OTHER petal projects!

On Green Wedding Shoes, I found a gorgeous photo of an arbor decorated with poms… so, so pretty!

And to help you make your OWN poms, I found this great DIY Fabric Pom Pom tutorial from

These would be great for weddings… AND other events like baby showers.  Ooohhh…I can just picture a baby shower arbor in my mind, can’t you?
