Theme Thursday: Rainbows

I did a post a couple of weeks ago about My Little Pony, and it include a couple of rainbow ideas… but I found so many more great rainbow projects, I just had to devote an entire post to the subject!

First up, from the Purple Pug, an post full of Rainbow goodness.  I love how many different ways they used rainbows – a true theme party!

From Icing Designs, a super sweet tutorial on how to make a Rainbow Birthday Hat complete with ruffles!  I will be making some of these… no doubt!

We’ve linked to rainbow cakes and cupcakes before, I know.. but I love this very easy to follow tutorial from The Blushing Bride – DIY Rainbow Cake:

Looking to add a rainbow touch to your table?  Check out this DIY Rainbow Felt Table Runner from Say Yes to Hoboken:

And finally, I just loved the inspiration from this Rainbow themed wedding, from rock n roll bride:

Fun Easter Craft Ideas

Easter will be here before we know it, and it’s time to start making your decor and DIY plans!  (I have a birthday party to plan this month too, so I may be getting overly anxious – we do still have 20-something days to get our Easter DIY on).

Here are some fun, unique Easter DIY projects I found… some are practical, some are not, but all are Diva-licious!

First up, if you are looking for Easter wreath ideas and your a crafter, you’ll love this wreath tutorial from A Lemon Squeezy Home.  I love her very detailed photos, and this looks easy to make with a lovely WOW factor:

From Polka Dot Easter Eggs, from Style At Home.  These would be lovely in a centerpiece basket, especially with a variety of colors.  When you click through to this post make sure you scroll to see ALL FIVE of these fab Easter egg crafts!

A very Diva idea from Stylizimo… golden Easter eggs!  I love how simple this is – ugly Easter eggs with gold leaf painted on.  Gorgeous!

And from BHG a very shabby chic idea for Easter egg door decor! This is only one of 25 Easter egg decorating ideas in their post – make sure you scroll through all of them!

What kind of DIY Easter projects are YOU making?  We’d to hear about them… leave us a comment or send us an email!

Theme Thursday – Silver and Gold

I used to think I was a little weird because I loved the combination of silver AND gold together, but I’ve since realized I’m not the only one.  (I’m know I’m weird for other reasons, but we won’t go there).  Today I bring you inspiration ala “Silver and Gold”… because really, you can never have enough sparkle!

From Style at Home, a lovely idea for table centerpieces… with silver and gold.  (And yes, I realize they discuss it as a holiday option, but I do think these would be perfect ANY time of year for wedding reception centerpieces).

Here is a lovely silver wedding cake from Love Wed Bliss, that I think would be FAB with a touch of gold… maybe with the flower or with one of discs?

And even Martha Stewart agrees with me about silver and gold… check out an entire show dedicated to using the lovely metals for your party:

Planning for New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve planning often gets left to the last minute around here. I get all caught up in holiday parties, and menus, and buying and wrapping presents, and I forget that I might should plan a little for the NEXT week!  Thankfully this year, we are having overnight guests for New Year’s Eve and that has forced me to plan better than usual.  Here are some fun ideas I found while doing some of that planning!

First, from Martha Stewart… a gorgeous idea for your table centerpiece, using gold baubles and champagne flutes:

From Momtastic, a tutorial on how to make glitter candles.  Can’t go wrong with glitter on New Year’s Eve!

We need hats for New Year’s Eve, right?  It’s a requirement, I think!  From Cathie and Steve, check out these FAB diva style hats, and directions on how to can make party hats too!  Everything you need can be purchased inexpensively at a craft store.

From Oh Happy Day, a tutorial for designing a sequin photo booth or backdrop.  This one might take awhile, but WOW, what a fabulous backdrop for your NYE photos!

For the kids (or kids at heart), you can make some fab New Year’s Eve Poppers – check out the tutorial on HOW To Party Poppers on Make and Takes:

How will YOU be celebrating New Year’s Eve?  We’d love to hear about it!

Shoe Themed Party – FUN!

Today we have fun pictures from one of our happy customers from the Diva Entertains shop.  Cynthia planned a shoe themed party, and ordered a cake topper and party favors.  Here are a couple of her photos. Note that the shoes that she wore is on her left and she decorate our shoe cake topper (on right) to look just like it.  Great job Cynthia!!!:
