Planning for New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve planning often gets left to the last minute around here. I get all caught up in holiday parties, and menus, and buying and wrapping presents, and I forget that I might should plan a little for the NEXT week!  Thankfully this year, we are having overnight guests for New Year’s Eve and that has forced me to plan better than usual.  Here are some fun ideas I found while doing some of that planning!

First, from Martha Stewart… a gorgeous idea for your table centerpiece, using gold baubles and champagne flutes:

From Momtastic, a tutorial on how to make glitter candles.  Can’t go wrong with glitter on New Year’s Eve!

We need hats for New Year’s Eve, right?  It’s a requirement, I think!  From Cathie and Steve, check out these FAB diva style hats, and directions on how to can make party hats too!  Everything you need can be purchased inexpensively at a craft store.

From Oh Happy Day, a tutorial for designing a sequin photo booth or backdrop.  This one might take awhile, but WOW, what a fabulous backdrop for your NYE photos!

For the kids (or kids at heart), you can make some fab New Year’s Eve Poppers – check out the tutorial on HOW To Party Poppers on Make and Takes:

How will YOU be celebrating New Year’s Eve?  We’d love to hear about it!

More DIY Christmas Gifts

I honestly don’t think we could write too many DIY Christmas gifts posts.  There are just so, so, SO many fabulous ideas out there, and I could write a post every day of the year.  I will refrain from being that excessive, but here I am with a few more great ideas for your holiday gift giving.

Do you know someone who LOVES candles?  And glitter?  How about making them a Glitter Candle (or three?)  From Home Heart Craft, a great how to make glitter candle tutorial for you:

From BHG, another (maybe easier) version of glitter candles, using glitter scrapbook paper: Make sure you scroll through all the candle crafts ideas in the post – there are over 20!

Now, do you need a Hostess gift for one of the parties you’ll be attending?  Check out this adorable idea from Midwest Living – you can stuff the mittens (or use oven mitts!) with anything you can think up!  And this post includes over 20 edible Christmas gifts to make!

Or how about DIY wine bags for that special hostess, or the wine lovers in your life?  Click here for the fun DIY tutorial from Diary of a Mad Crafter:

Want to make a baked goodie as a gift?  Then you need to check out this Cinnamon Roll Coffee Cake, from averie cooks.  It looks divine, and I think it would make a lovely hostess (or otherwise) gift!

Need some lovely gift tags to go with your gifts?  Check out these printable tags from Pioneer Woman, found in this post:

And finally… something unique for the women… sisters, aunts, moms, and grandmas… how about learning how to make a Sugar Scrub?  The Idea Room has a FAB tutorial for making a Peppermint Candy Sugar Scrub.  Doesn’t it look scrumptious and lovely? It’s way easier than you’d think!

What will YOU be making to give away this year?  Please share with us!  We’d love to hear!
